ABOUT

History

The Boogaloo has been a gathering place, a watering place, a music hall place, a dancing place, the host of art happenings and literary events, the inspiration for a song or two and a discreet place for a rockstar, an elegant lady or a man of the cloth to have a quiet drink amid the chaos while the crazy world spins.

We opened our doors for the first time many years ago and we are glad to say, we are going as strong as ever today.

We love the past and everything vintage, just as much as we love everything new that we bring to the bar, but The Boogaloo has the charm of staying timeless …..And thats the way we like it.

Welcome to Boogalooville and we hope we serve you well………………Vaya con Dios.Thank you and Goodnight.

Courtyard & Stables

Years ago before we were born this used to be one of the first Coaching Inns on the way into London. We have the most beautiful stables where you can while away an afternoon and dream of days of old.

Do not leave without reading the lyric walls , there is a message there for you.

Exhibitions at The Boogaloo:

The Boogaloo has a history of being a patron of the arts and regularly hosts art installations and exhibitions by artistes. We are proud to be associated with some wonderful talent from Maggie Cassidy to Gillian O’Brien to Mushroom Man. Presently at the bar we have 3 art installations on show.

THE LAST TEA PARTY:
Gillian O’Brien has her installation ”The Last Tea Party’ on show at the back of the courtyard looking into Highgate woods. This is a fabulous piece,a scene depicting a table, deserted chairs and hats , a half eaten banquet amidst some wild animals from badgers to Stags heads, this is a must see installation, especially at night when lit.

Vintage Markets

The Boogaloo hosts a Pop-Up Market on most Saturday afternoons. Our markets are hosted by a collective of different market promoters who each bring a unique character to the market as well as their own hand picked selection of stalls and entertainment.
You can expect everything from vintage jumble, clothes, jewellery and bric-a-brac; to arts, crafts and cakes. Sometimes there are even mobile massages, hair and make up styling. Some of our markets also have DJs in the afternoon and sometimes kids entertainers and live music. And of course the bar is open all day!
